Account & Data Deletion

How to delete your Pulse account and what data may be retained for safety, legal, or fraud prevention reasons.

1. Delete in app

  • Go to Settings → Account → Delete account.
  • Confirm deletion in the app flow.
  • You may be asked to verify account ownership before deletion finalizes.

2. What gets deleted

  • Profile details, prompts, and discoverability state.
  • Account access and active session tokens.
  • Most message and match data, subject to legal/safety exceptions.

3. What may be retained

  • Minimized safety and abuse evidence may be retained for up to 24 months where reasonably necessary for user safety, repeat-abuse prevention, disputes, or legal obligations.
  • Security-breach records may be retained for up to 24 months where required by law.
  • Data required for an active investigation, legal hold, legal claim, or regulatory obligation may be retained longer for only as long as that requirement applies.

4. Deletion timeline

  • Initial account deactivation: usually immediate.
  • Back-end deletion or de-identification of ordinary account data: within 7 days.
  • Ordinary service logs and backup copies: removed through normal rotation within 30 days.
