This Privacy Policy applies to personal information processed through Pulse mobile apps, websites, support channels, and moderation systems. It does not apply to third-party services that we do not control.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Account details (email, phone number, birthday, profile name, pronouns, gender identity).
- Profile content (photos, prompts, bio, lifestyle info, preferences, relationship goals).
- Messages and interactions (chat content, likes, matches, reports, blocks).
- Support and trust requests (appeals, safety reports, identity or account verification details when requested).
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Device and app data (device model, OS, app version, language, push token, crash logs).
- Usage data (features used, taps, session activity, moderation events).
- Approximate or precise location, depending on your permissions and settings.
2.3 Information from other sources
- Fraud/safety signals from service providers and anti-abuse tools.
- Publicly available information where legally permitted for safety investigations.
3. How We Use Information
We process information to:
- Create and manage your account.
- Power core dating features such as profile display, matching, messaging, and discovery filters.
- Provide location-based relevance and neighborhood display features.
- Send service messages, security alerts, and (if enabled) marketing communications.
- Detect, prevent, and investigate abuse, harassment, fraud, and policy violations.
- Enforce our Terms and Community Rules, including removals, restrictions, and bans.
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
If you turn off marketing consent, you may still receive transactional and safety-related notifications.
5. Data Retention
- We retain account information while your account is active.
- After a confirmed deletion request, the profile is hidden immediately and ordinary account data is deleted or de-identified within 7 days.
- Ordinary service logs and backup copies may remain for up to 30 days through normal rotation.
- Minimized, access-controlled safety reports and enforcement evidence may be retained for up to 24 months when reasonably necessary for user safety, repeat-abuse prevention, disputes, or legal obligations.
- Security-breach records may be retained for up to 24 months where required by law.
- Information subject to a legal hold or active investigation may be retained longer when legally required.
6. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and to object to certain processing.
- Update profile and preference data inside app settings.
- Manage notification and marketing preferences in-app.
- Request account deletion or data access through our Privacy Rights Request page.
- Appeal moderation decisions where available.
7. Safety, Reporting, and Moderation
Pulse is a user-generated content platform. We use a combination of automated detection and human review to identify and respond to abuse.
- In-app reporting tools for profiles, messages, and media.
- Block and mute controls to stop contact.
- Investigation workflows and abuse operations procedures.
- Enforcement actions: warnings, content removal, feature restrictions, suspensions, and account bans.
We may preserve evidence related to serious violations to support trust-and-safety operations and legal obligations.
8. Age Limits
Pulse is intended only for adults age 18 and older. We do not knowingly allow minors to use the Service. If we discover underage use, we will remove the account and associated data as required.
9. Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No system is fully secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use contractual and legal safeguards for cross-border data transfers.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide notice through the app, website, or other appropriate channels and update the effective date.
